Welcome to EGO! English Graduate Organization provides unique opportunities for students to organize and participate in professional development workshops and activities, to network and socialize with their peers and the faculty, and to become involved in special interest committees created by graduate students to advance the interests of the English graduate community. EGO's membership is made up entirely of English graduate students and its interests are those specific to its members. EGO Officers 2012-2013 President: Andrea Spofford (andrea.spofford@eagles.usm.edu) Vice-President: Jolene Creighton (jolene.creighton@eagles.usm.edu) Secretary: Olivia Bushardt (olivia.bushardt@eagles.usm.edu) Treasurer: Tanja Nathanael (tanja.nathanael@eagles.usm.edu) Executive Member at Large: Tyler Sasser (marvin.sasser@eagles.usm.edu) Faculty Adviser: Dr. Nicolle Jordan What This Site Offers This site is a space for the graduate student community to find and share helpful information about the English department and Center for Writers, department and local/campus events, professionalization opportunities, etc. It is also a forum for discussion. Tell us what's on your mind, what you've been reading, or what you think we should do differently. And, finally, this site is a facilitation point for writing communities. Want someone to peer review your work? Post it! Want to find or create a writing group? Start here. Wondering where to send that poem or story? Just ask. Please do note that this is a safe, constructive space. Though the need is unlikely to arise, the site administrators reserve the right to remove comments or materials that are slanderous or harmful to the sense of community in the English department. Please bring private issues like these to the EGO president, or any EGO officer you feel comfortable talking to. We're here for you. Jump In! Click on the "Sign In" button at top right. You will be prompted to log in to wetpaint or to create an account. This will enable you to post links, add pages, etc. If you have any problems getting started, please feel free to contact Andrea Spofford. |
